My head is spinning with design, and I suppose I could say desire.

We had a superb day, but by then end the heat takes a toll on the body, these ladies lifted from the lives of suburbia were thrust onto the interesting and at times pure darn scary roads of Delhi. Yes, we also drove down the wrong side of the road amidst 5 pm traffic to get to our turn off quickly. We dodged thousands of motor bikes. We saw a family of 6 on one bike, and the variety of helmets makes your head spin.

You can just turn in front of anyone or cut off the car to the side of you as long as you use your horn. I love it and I’m in absolute awe of the drivers their driving skill is amazing.

Fabric to make you heart skip a beat – sharing how I’m going to use it.

Yesterday, with a roll of quilts under my arm and a package of teaching supplies I was waiting for my driver in the lobby. Suddenly the quilts were whisked out of my arms and onto the counter of the porter…. In alarm I kept an eye on them as they began to wrap my quilts very neatly in Newspaper!!!!!! Ohhhh. They then presented the parcel with a small handle tie and and expression of complete happiness. “Please don’t rub the newsprint off on my precious quilts “I thought, and the end of the story was that they were just fine. I gave a small class to some friends here in Delhi and we had a wonderful day talking, eating, listening and sharing ideas on quilting as they completed a small project.

Norway, – Converting my travel images to textile art. How do you do it?

Two years after my teaching trip to Norway I get the opportunity to work on the creative ideas I worked on as I travel. But even in that short time, the opportunity to use different methods of completion have suddenly appeared on my computer.

Now what will I do with this?

The world speeds past you in a fusion of color as you travel and I try to capture as much as I can with photo images, however, the design images stay in the brain and don’t escape until I put pen to paper.

This past year the world of illustration changed for me when I was introduced to the iPad Pro. Now I have paints, inks, pencils with me all in one package and the soothing music in the ipad of Nora Jones added to my relaxation as I worked yesterday.

Taking photos of animals to create textile art.

My passion is thread painting. (using the sewing machine to create an image with thread) and not having a cat I practice taking photos on my friends cat. She is patient and sits with a fixed stare as if to say. ‘Just take it’

Art, adventures and the lost computer.

So as I fly in with a smile on my face, and a heart nearly breaking with pride I can’t wait for it all to begin. It’s a crazy week for all of us, Radio, TV. Visits and a laugh a minute. Then again there are five new classes from dear friend Sue Rassmusen and I to share with you all, and you my dear friends make it work.

The Secret Lives of Princesses

She advises, corrects and consoles.
Soul Sister, kindred spirit, or BFF, she shares life’s most intense moments as well as the boring ones. She holds the Princesse’s hand when she is sad, stands by her side no matter what happens, and is her shoulder to lean on in case of a hard blow.

More than a simple companion, the confidante is

a locked safe that keeps all the princesses secrets.
There are many stories of great friendship between a princess and her confidante. Some last only for a short time, like those of a Princess-for-a-day.

A Mixture of Measures.

Today has been a mixture of measures. Juggling the norm to create something new. As well as family pleasures I bought 3 new pairs of glasses, a blue pair, a black and white pair and a black and orange pair ! (those of you who know me, know my passion for unusual glasses)  Family pleasures…

The quilting Genres I love.

During my time home I need to complete 5 quilts and I’m well on the way to doing that at the moment. I find that working on a number of genres at one time works well for me. I don’t get bored with one quilt… and at the end I finish 5 quilts at once… (well there is a possibility that I won’t) It all depends on babies, family, babysitting, another visit to the skin specialist and the need to stop and sigh every now and then.

The way I see it.

Most of the things I add to my blog are for women. Textile artists mostly. Well, I think this blog will be of interest to the man in your life. The colors of these old cars just blew my mind.
