I take photos every day.
Photos of the mundane, photos of color, photos of the unusual. Each photo stimulates inspiration and anticipation. I’m offering a challenge, I would like one person to choose one of these images and I will design a quilt from it. I will share the technique and tactics as I go.
These are some images of textures, no words are needed just interesting images with color, light and shape.

Thank you. He and I studied soldiers and ships today. He was fascinated that they had to chop down trees to build the ships. It’s a great story to share with little people.
How do you do as much as you do? I was asked that question in a forum yesterday.
Let me tell you, life is much quieter and less busy than when we had 15 people in the house. Can you imagine the shopping, cooking and cleaning for those little poppits… so nowadays its a breeze really.
I’ve been teaching Woven Water colors for some time and this is a video I made some time ago.
I use basic cheesecloth, dye it and create an overlay on the quilt top to create a translucent effect.
We were standing on the small landing outside my room. She leaned forward and touched my arm and said “Tell me what you see in an airplane? The lilt of her voice was so gentle.
However, seeing the image each day I’m reminded that many of us do stand up there on ant hills, like the Topi. We are there for everyone to see and make comment. Sometimes friendly, sometimes the comments are not so nice.
This guy is the subject for my next two Quilts, I shared one last night and this is the one I have been working on today.
