Chicago Challenge

I've given up counting what block I'm up to.. I'm just going to do it….. I'm unable to sew a block while I am traveling, so I've drawn one and this is my challenge in Chicago City. I think I could take any part of this drawing and create an applique. But I decided to…

Apple tree update.

I sandwiched the quilt and I thought, I’ll just press it before I quilt it…. and the batting shrank about half an inch…. I’ve never seen that before… and this is a small quilt !!!!! so I had to pull it undone and re-sandwich it. It was 100% cotton pre shunk batting, so I’m going to contact them on that.

I’ve forgotton which No I’m up to…!!!

It's difficult to play with fabric on the road… BUT, I can plan it and draw it. Maybe it will stay a drawing, maybe it will become a quilt

The Rhino.

Rhino No 1. is now a raw edge applique quilt reality !!!!! It's taken from the pencil drawing by Albert Durer. At Last…. Now for the illustrated one…   Albrecht Dürer was originally taught to draw by his father. As a goldsmith to trade, he seems to have implanted his craft's appreciation of fine detail…

Block 18 is a little different.

I'm going to be away over Easter so this is my Easter block, I'm getting in early and once again, the block is bigger than 6"  it's 17" X 14". It's a little Folk Art in a way, a bit Fu Fu and I used fabric, wool and felt. If I felt so inclined I…
