This morning, we drove the 250 kms here on dusty roads flanked by golden manicured paddocks that reflected the end of a hot summer season. The sky was blue, punctuated by old deserted houses with rusty roofs and flocks of black crows. The houses hold memories of happiness, struggles and families past.

Capture and Create. The textures and colors of Mexico.
Traveling and working in Mexico is an absolute joy. This blog shares the excitement of color and Texture in Mexico.
Capturing the spirit. – a Textile Artists view.
This is a photographic journal using street photography of San Miguel Allende. Mexico.
How do you match the colors for a quilt?
How do you select the colors for a realistic quilt? That could be thread or fabric.
Do you have a special technique?
Well, I’m going to do it again and give away a technique I discovered recently.
Photo journal of Hobart Tasmania
Enjoy a walk around Hobart with a Quilters eye.
By a fluke, (or was it Karma) we found ourselves at the very place where my Uncle had painted the images. But my take on Low Head is very different. Some of the old buildings are still there 160 years later, as are the light houses.
To be honest, I didn’t really equate the two, Joshua Higgs paintings and the fact that we were at Low Head. It wasn’t until I went through my photos last night that I put the two together.
Photography – the Antique Barn.
Most of the people who look at this blog are textile artists or photographers. My Textile Artist friends, I was concentrating on capturing, light, color and Texture.
Digital technology that goes well beyond creativity
I spend hours on the plane, while I’m watching TV and even in bed designing on the ipad. (by the way I think every quilter needs an ipad) My mind is constantly challenged and technology has increased my desire to challenge myself even more as a Textile artist… I don’t think I should say I’m a quilter as such.. I’m an artist in textiles I love it. Its stimulating and challenging thanks to Technology.
Journey with me.
I’ve had some difficulty with my blog and web page over the past month. They are technical difficulties which are very frustrating, but I do hope I’ve been able to rectify them. Of course many of you know of our journey with Baby Jay now 4 weeks old. He is improving slowly and we are…
I’m home and I’m humbled.
Jay has a carer 24 hours a day. He’s hooked up to dozens of wires it seems. His little tiny toes glow under the blankets and each movement captures your gaze. One tiny little arm escapes from his muslin swaddling blanket and its attached to a small board of wires, the other little hand reaches for freedom despite the efforts of the staff.
