I was flying from Israel to Dubai. I had to have a compulsory stop in Jordan on the way. Of course I couldn’t go out of the airport terminal but I was surprised at the amount of Americans dressed in their khaki  safari dress. I couldn’t help but overhear their conversation and they were talking about…

The Amish Buggy – Shipshewana
Kaye England and I were lucky enough to be able to take a trip in an Amish buggy with Mr Yoder. It was a rare experience and one I will never forget. He was a delightful man and he is so proud and matter of fact about his Amish life and Shipshewana.
Take a tour with me in Shipshewana – Enjoy the spectacular quilts and the ambience.
Its taken me a week to be able to get the photos of Shipshewana up on the blog. So here they are.  Kaye and I visited Rebecca Haarer Arts and Antiques. It’s a wonderful store, with so much to see. The heart beat a little faster. This is a stunningly beautiful Amish quilt. It was exciting to see…
Gardens, and Musings.
I’ve just stepped out of the shower and it’s the place I do my best musing. First of all the tiles in shower are sage/mint green that was popular in the 60’s. Its like stepping back into another age. But its a bit quaint. I did however, buy a new pillow to sleep on and I tucked away the bedding other than the sheets and slept under my own quilt last night. Its not too bad, I don’t like those polyester quilt covers and blankets in hotels. I don’t know what sort of history it has. At least with a crisp white doona cover, you can tell if its pristine. I sure know my quilt is.
A Quilters tour of Dallas – Do you see what I see – the unexpected
Sometimes, the day just rolls by with unpredictably and you smile and on other occasions cringe at each event and accept it as it happens.
Today was just one of those days.
The hotel organized a shuttle to the train station a short distance away and I planned to go to Fort Worth. I’ve been there before, and yes its touristy, but sometimes you just need a little tourist delight in your day. The train appeared shortly after I arrived at the station. A great big white two-story train bearing down on me with a boom of the whistle and squealing of wheels.
Share a couple of minutes with me in my studio.
I travel a lot and the studio is one of the places I display the things I bought in Africa, Haiti, Thailand, Mexico…. lots of other places. I see them every day and it makes working a sheer Joy.
photographic Journal of Art – Montemartre France
I’ve visited many times and I love wandering through the Place du Tertre, the artist-filled square atop Paris’s Montmartre. I can’t imagine attempting to draw with a thick Jacket on in coolish weather, or even having people watch me create. The artists are talented, but it speaks ‘tourist come buy me’
Notebook reminders.
Every now and then I go through my notebooks in search of random writings and thoughts I’ve scribbled down here and there during the years.
Art in the street – the visual story.
Capturing the essence of things that happen in the street.
A street artist works silently amidst the hubbub of a busy street in Seoul Korea. Passers by are fascinated and stand silently watching the image appear on his paper.
This is a small visual story, the artist works on paper, I capture his image on camera and I share it with my friends who may never travel to this part of the world.
The colors of Korea. – What do they mean, how do they blend?
I had to find out more about the colors of Korea. The colors of Dancheong.
