Passenger trains have passed through an incredibly busy market 8 times a day for almost 30 years…
Lily, our guide explained that the market is overflowing and there is no more room for vendors, so when some enterprising folk saw that the space by the train line was free, they gradually put their stalls right next to the line. As the train arrives, the produce is lifted or rolled back like a well coordinated race team the canopies are removed and the train passes through. Within a few minutes products are put back in place and the overhead canvas is unfurled, it’s an incredible sight. The train actually passes over the produce…. OK, I’m not going to buy any of it… but its the way it is….

Procrastinating – The decision is made.
I needed to sit and write this afternoon. I’ve had to make a huge decision today and sometimes just the act of writing or drawing takes me to a place where I can touch my childhood and all is well with the world.
Taking photos to create Textile Art – its easier than you think.
I’m not a photographic purist. I just love taking photos. From the drips on a coffee cup to the textures in wood and beyond, I find it interesting. I know some of my friends look at me a little strange when I suddenly become pre-occupied in the midst of a conversation and I turn my head to capture just the right image…then out comes the camera.!!
Drawing on fabric from nature – capture and create.
It’s not fancy, but its interesting and its a unique way to create your own fabric by drawing on the fabric then quilting it.
Autumn in our ‘place’
The weekend seemed to fly by.
I had some medical issues to attend to, our weekly Saturday breakfast with friends and family and about an hour ago I realised that I was still in my PJ’s such was my concentration on tasks at hand!!!
photographic Journal of Art – Montemartre France
I’ve visited many times and I love wandering through the Place du Tertre, the artist-filled square atop Paris’s Montmartre. I can’t imagine attempting to draw with a thick Jacket on in coolish weather, or even having people watch me create. The artists are talented, but it speaks ‘tourist come buy me’
A visual story – dancing to your own beat.
The street was buzzing, the noise of buskers, conversation, and daughter was split by the harshness of rap music. A woman in her middle years, dressed in pink and sporting a Michael Jackson hat and hair style danced to her own beat, speakers on her belt broadcasting the sound.
Art in the street – the visual story.
Capturing the essence of things that happen in the street.
A street artist works silently amidst the hubbub of a busy street in Seoul Korea. Passers by are fascinated and stand silently watching the image appear on his paper.
This is a small visual story, the artist works on paper, I capture his image on camera and I share it with my friends who may never travel to this part of the world.
The experience of Dining in Seoul Korea.
I’ve been traveling for 3 months solid. I’ve eaten everything from Aztec to American and a lot in between. However, I think the local food has got me beat.
We had such a contrast of dining yesterday from chic French to Market food with 1000’s of others.
Out of my comfort zone.
It’s a poignant reminder how good our lives are.
