Coming back home after a long time away is full of excitement, happiness, sheer exhaustion, dealing with problems we have no power over and this time some indecision.

Lake Atitlan memories.
I’ve had 5 days of village life. Would I like to live in that environment? I think in all honesty, I have to say No, not really, but it’s been a wonderful experience to immerse myself in village life day after day.
First day of filming – the master craftsmen of Guatemala.
We boated across the lake, it was a clear, warm day and the excitement mounted. Of course having a full film crew in a small village adds a buzz to the environment. Having a cast of ‘ordinary’ crafters is also unique and we were welcomed with lots of smiles and good humor from the local people.
The Masai Experienced – Capture and Create.
The area is small, not quite 6 ft, by 6 ft and its dark with the exception of a small slit in the wall located near the ceiling. There are a small patch of hides in the corner of the room and a cooking pot. Look up and its pitch black with no obvious area for the smoke to rise through. It was hot and stuffy and incredibly confining. But 8 people live in here and its one of the small mud huts in the Masai village we visited.
Special people – the purple lady.
Her thick woolen skirt was hand sewn and the pocket sat askew on her knee. Her bright red slippers were held neatly with purple wool. I think she was quite pleased we stopped for a chat.
“I make my scarves really long” she states as her hands continue with her knitting. “I don’t loose them as much when they are long” !!! well I guess that makes sense.
Bikies, (or Bikers in the USA) Body odour and blessings. – a travel story of a Quilter.
Hah, I knew she would have to move, it was impossible for him to squeeze pass her like I did. So a dance of bodies occurred and the young man wedged himself between us. I almost reeled from his strong body odour and I thought “whoops this is going to be an interesting 4 hours” He was sweating profusely… and began chatting to me, I turned to look at him and I realised that he was terrified of the situation he was in.
Alice Isabella goes to the quilt show – read it to your Grandies.
Alice Isabella is a tiny lady of undermined age who lives in a note book in my hand bag.
Sometimes she sleeps a lot, but she does enjoy traveling with me.
Today she was so excited because we were going to Cincinnati (sit-on-the-matty) to the quilt show.
She has been waiting a very long time to go and she was really, really excited.
She has her bags full of interesting things… her clothes, magazines in case she gets bored, and 20 cheese sandwiches wrapped in brown paper just in case she gets hungry or just in case no one feeds her or – just in case.
Trains, tea and travel images in Seoul Korea.
The scenery passes us by like a fast – moving television screen, green fields, water sodden paddy, large cities, tunnels and flashing light as we go through the mountains rather than over it and everything is just so tidy.
Paper fabric? – Hanji.
Walking into a shop full of paper is like walking into a quilt shop. There are layers and layers of brightly colored papers lining the walls, floors and tables.
Turquoise, Red, Orange and Blue – the colors of celebration – a photo Journal.
Turquoise, Red, Orange and blue are the colors of the Jeonju Temple gate. Dramatic, stimulating colors that stir the heart and the designs capture the imagination. Jeonju, famous among Koreans as a town of culture and cuisine, cultural and artistic tradition emanates from every corner of the city.
