My driver arrived at 7.10 pm and chats for the entire trip to the airport and I learn of his beginnings in life, his childhood and his children’s careers. Captured in comfort as we wind our way down through the hills to the airport I’m a patient participant in his patter.

Norway, – Converting my travel images to textile art. How do you do it?
Two years after my teaching trip to Norway I get the opportunity to work on the creative ideas I worked on as I travel. But even in that short time, the opportunity to use different methods of completion have suddenly appeared on my computer.
Inspiration for images. – photography.

The gift of time out for an artist on the road.
If I’m not actively busy I begin to feel that I should be home with my family or working on my major project. It’s always been that way when I’m traveling. Downtime often feels like I’m living in excess, but it’s a little difficult to actually go from one event to another time wise when you are 17,000 miles from home.
Two gals on the road, – learning to ‘see’
I’m 69 and I’ve made a concerted effort over the past few years to ‘observe’. I sort of feel that I probably have another 10-15 years left to really ‘see’ and I sure don’t want to miss anything. That doesn’t seem long enough for me but it’s reality.
Photography is my passion and I was keen to capture the light and ambience of this majestic place. However, I really wanted to see and photograph the ‘wave’ formation of rocks. The formation is situated on the slopes of the Coyote Buttes in the Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness of the Colorado Plateau.
The rest of this blog is a photographic explanation of our visit.
Travel through NM, Arizona and Utah, two gals on the road.
All I can say is that we have had a feast of inspiration… the ideas are many and the creative spirit is high.
Art, adventures and the lost computer.
So as I fly in with a smile on my face, and a heart nearly breaking with pride I can’t wait for it all to begin. It’s a crazy week for all of us, Radio, TV. Visits and a laugh a minute. Then again there are five new classes from dear friend Sue Rassmusen and I to share with you all, and you my dear friends make it work.
The quilting Genres I love.
During my time home I need to complete 5 quilts and I’m well on the way to doing that at the moment. I find that working on a number of genres at one time works well for me. I don’t get bored with one quilt… and at the end I finish 5 quilts at once… (well there is a possibility that I won’t) It all depends on babies, family, babysitting, another visit to the skin specialist and the need to stop and sigh every now and then.
The way I see it.
Most of the things I add to my blog are for women. Textile artists mostly. Well, I think this blog will be of interest to the man in your life. The colors of these old cars just blew my mind.
