From Teaching to Creating: My Digital Art Adventure.

The word 'WEDNESDAY' written in a casual, handwritten style.

I taught the first day of a 2-day class today.

Of course, it was the first day of Geraldine the Giraffe.

I retired from paid teaching as of this year. But, I’ve decided to share my ideas as a gift to country groups. I’ve received many excellent opportunities to meet people over the past 30 years of teaching.

Vector Illustration Journey

I’ve been creating digital art on the iPad Pro for several years now, primarily using Adobe products. As with most software, they frequently roll out updates, which often require adapting to an entirely new system. I particularly enjoyed using Adobe Sketch, where I could create intricate pencil drawings that appeared quite realistic. However, after the program was updated, I didn’t dedicate enough time to explore all the new lessons, which left me a bit behind.

After watching a few tutorials on YouTube, I’m back to honing my skills. I’ve discovered that vector images suit my illustration style perfectly. Vectors offer clean lines and are not pixelated, making them an ideal choice for my work.

The top three images are vector graphics, which are significantly simpler compared to the ones I’ve created previously, as shown below. However, you are only limited by your imagination.

Festival of Quilts 2025
Friday 11 – Sunday 13 July
Adelaide Showground
In association with CraftAlive

Keith and I went to the show on Friday, and it was fantastic! We enjoyed spending time chatting with quilt makers and friends.

Unfortunately, I’m not permitted to share images of the quilts, which is a pity. I’ve never attended a quilt show that restricts sharing the quilts on display.

I fell in love with the art of Akiko Ike

This is how I perceive the artwork I encountered. It was a true privilege to experience her breathtaking creations.

Travel

This week has passed in the blink of an eye; it’s now just a few weeks until my departure for Thailand and Vietnam. I’ll be documenting my adventures as I journey.

Travelling often leads to countless wonderful memories, and I draw immense inspiration from the sights I encounter along the way. To capture these experiences, I’ve been working on a 350-page book filled with images and descriptions from our last four block tours.

The plan is to provide our clients with a PDF version of the book upon completion of the tours.

As a woman of a certain age, and working with Mr Govind in our Company, I enjoy staying at lovely hotels, dining at fantastic restaurants, and indulging in both local and fine dining experiences, while also taking occasional short breaks.

I understand our guests’ travel preferences. We operate smaller groups, which I refer to as “single table” gatherings, allowing us to enjoy meals and engage in meaningful conversations together.

Pam you are a very generous giving person. I like the way you give back without expectation of a monetary value. We would be a much better world if more people did this especially when they have enough for their needs.
