YARRENYTY ARLTERE ARTISTS: EVERY FACE HAS A STORY, EVERY STORY HAS A FACE: KULILA!

Yesterday I had a day off from work in the studio. My Sister and I  visited the Art Gallery of South Australia. As a member I get lots of wonderful information about lectures, talks and cultural walks and after attending one of the talks I came across this exhbition. I think it’s beauty…

Houston Quilt Festival:- day 4.

The show opened officially for the full day today and I’m told it was absolutely packed. Around noon, 2 million people descended on Houston for the Astros trade. The town turned Orange, I sort of thought it was for me, the roads and parks turned a bright shade of orange.

Houston International Quilt Market and Festival, Day 1.

I will take photos in sections and share them. These images are not for publication beyond this blog and I ask that you respect the right of the creator.

I broke the record – a small quilt pattern to share.

The South Australian Quilt Guild have a yearly Country Forum. It was held in the Ballroom at the Burnside Community centre. Excited car and bus loads of gals came from all over the State. The idea is to involve the country folk in the guild functions. Maxine Smith (el Presidente ) held the floor and Sandy Jones and her band of helpers, cooked, prepared goody bags and worked exceedingly hard to make this a day to be remembered.

It’s just the way it is.

Every day brings forth a bit of a bonus in one way or another. I don’t think I have a day that is ordinary, there is always a spark of inventiveness or even a little creative crusading for the team. Who wouldn’t be flattered that your peers are interested in your art.

That’s the value of teaching.

I’ve been drawing and writing patterns today as I travel. This is one I’ve done before, but it’s been prepared for thread stitching now. I don’t know how other teachers design and prepare a class. It’s one of those things that are never really discussed when we meet socially. I mean I don’t think it’s…
