For my students coming to Costa Rica with me in January, these are the sort of things that we will be looking at to create Texture.

I love to capture the light, the textures of a place, the spontaneous images of street photography and the urban wildlife if I can. It certainly makes for an all round expose of the place I visited. The images remain for ever.

Tall tales to tell your Grandies.

A koala bear lives in my trees, he or she, climbs from one to one, selecting the most delicious morsels for supper. It sits up high and watches over our family. But these trees live in a different forest and have amazing stories to tell.

Be curious, Be honest, be true to your self, be indignant but learn to “see’ the exclusiveness of the experience.

Monday last week I arrived home from a 3 month trip. After traveling for 36 hours I fell into organizing just a few things like storm damage to the downstairs area, unpack 6 cases, organize insurance, food shopping, catch up with family and do a day of business with my PA and pack for the New Zealand class all in three days. Then off again.

Using Adobe Sketch for quilt and fabric designers.

This is not the best drawing I’ve done, but I’m working through the process right now. This is a pattern that I will re-create as an appliqué panel, but wanted to see if I could draw a quarter of the image and then see how it turns out when I mirror image it.

How to use the iPad pro for your quilt patterns and illustrations using Adobe Sketch.

In January this year, my creative life changed when I purchased the new iPad pro.

I bought the largest screen and the largest memory iPad that I could. Then came the wonderful apple pencil. It really has taken me almost all of the year to work through the applications that work in my favor.

The main one I use is Adobe sketch.

Daylight saving has given me an extra hour today for which I am grateful. We leave for the Caribbean today and I won’t be able to access good internet, so I’m taking the opportunity to post a few more images before we leave. I have more to add, but I don’t have the time right…
