Last week when I took my friends to the flower and fabric market it was teaming with rain, so I went back today to take photos for them.

We have so much to learn.
The following images were taken at the wholesale hill tribe market. You’ve all seen beautiful embroideries made into re purposed garments or bags, every culture does it, however, I want to buy the re-purposing textiles. And so we did. Set in a tin shed of immense proportions one is transported into a cultural wonderland of color and texture. It’s unbeleivably hot under the tin roof and I would love to know just how the mounds of clothing finds its way into the hands of the dealers. To be honest, most of them are just families who sell to manufacturers. They live in the small stores, babies, children and older folk.
Individual voice. – Capture and Create.
I always have a vision of the completed work before I begin to stitch, but it doesn’t always end up that way. This piece is a testament to that. I listen to my work, and react to the individual voice.
A short photo Journal of the QVB Building in Sydney.
The QVA building in Sydney is just beautiful and I love capturing the images there. Its right opposite our hotel and we can just pop over for a coffee.

My quilting style belongs to me and me alone.
What I create is from my heart and head.
My brain is my tool, my heart is my intuition, and my hands do my bidding.
The drama of making speccy case covers. – what has this to do with Quilting?
I’m a gal of deadlines. My day is roughly mapped out when my eyes spring open each day, but sometimes those plans just fly out of the window. Yesterday I changed my plans to sew all day and did a little shopping… actually I appliquéd from 4.30 am till………then went shopping. First thing was to…
The Day diary of a Textile Art Tutor. – Capture and Create.
It’s so nice being home. I have another day of teaching today with a group of ladies who honour me with their presence. I’m always humbled and I still have the feeling of amazement that someone actually waits in anticipation, prepares and packs their supplies to come to one of my classes. When those ladies arrive laden with their machines and large overflowing bags of fabric, notions and the latest equipment I do a little mental dance.
Street art. – A fascinating form of communication.
Artists have challenged art by situating it in non-art contexts. Street artists do not aspire to change the definition of an artwork, but rather to question the existing environment with its own language. The motivations and objectives that drive street artists are as varied as the artists themselves.
My Mojo.
I found my mojo through hard work and experience. My quilting style belongs to me and me alone. What I create is from my heart and head. My brain is my tool, my heart is my intuition, and my hands do my bidding. However, that doesn’t mean I won’t have a slip up on occasions. That doesn’t mean that I don’t have doubts or worries. I do fail sometimes.
Photo Journal of Petra in Jordan
I was flying from Israel to Dubai. I had to have a compulsory stop in Jordan on the way. Of course I couldn’t go out of the airport terminal but I was surprised at the amount of Americans dressed in their khaki  safari dress. I couldn’t help but overhear their conversation and they were talking about…
