Portraits No 9.

The fabric pictured below is what I am using for the shading of her shawl. I will "grade" the fabric first. By that, I mean that I will work out how many graduations of color I will use. I think there will probably be around 6 graduations. I may have to add a little ink…

I’m now preparing to create the garments in the portrait.  If I was making them in order, I would need to create her skirt first, because that is underneath the other garments….then her shirt and arms and finally the shawl and beads. However, like the face, I will work on this part of the quilt…

Portrait No 7.

I’ve added a few tricks to this part of the portrait. The mouth was made separately and I didn’t add it to the portrait until I was satisfied with it.The lips were made as two separate pieces and illustrated with three colors, brick, black  and white. I used Tsukineko inks  (Not Paint honey’s) I auditioned…
